About Me
I am a pediatric immunologist and allergist at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. I treat children with atopic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, asthma, urticaria, eczema, contact dermatitis, food allergy, food protein induced enterocolitis (FPIES), Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), drug allergy, venom allergy and anaphylaxis.
I also specialize in caring for patients with primary immunodeficiencies like 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, X-linked Agammaglobulinemia (XLA), Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), Hyper IgM syndrome, Hyper IgE syndrome, and Specific antibody deficiency, among others.
I love my work because it allows me to use my expertise in the field of allergy and immunology to care for children and their families. I am able to help make positive changes in their lives and help them feel their best. I also really enjoy working with multicultural and underserved populations.
In addition to providing patient care, I am a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) National Medical Honor Society, an organization with commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism and service. I was also recently awarded the Florida International University (FIU) 2018 TORCH Awards as Distinguished Alumni, which is the highest honor bestowed upon alumni and faculty for making an impact in their professions, the community and at the university.
Outside of the office, I can be found on a run with my husband, paddle boarding at the beach, scuba diving, reading a historic novel, cooking or dancing.
