Specialists in our 22Q Multidisciplinary Clinic care for children and adults with genetic differences caused by a missing or extra piece of chromosome 22. 22Q Deletion Syndrome, also known as DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome, can cause health issues that include:
- Congenital heart defects
- Kidney problems
- Low calcium levels
- Immune system disorders
- Thyroid conditions
- Velopharyngeal dysfunction (palate and throat walls)
- Speech difficulties
- Learning differences
Pediatric Specialties
Our team addresses these conditions and provides regular follow-up care in several pediatric specialties including:
- Genetics
- Immunology
- Endocrinology
- Ear Nose Throat (Ear, nose and throat)
- Speech pathology
- Nutrition
We meet on the third Wednesday afternoon of every month offering comprehensive visits, and our team makes referrals to other specialists as needed.
