I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. As a community-based cardiologist in South Florida since 2005, I specialize in caring for children and adolescents with cardiovascular risks of high blood pressure (hypertension) and high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) from obesity. I also see patients with complaints of murmurs, chest pains, arrhythmias and syncope, and those with congenital cardiac conditions.

I've always been captivated by the human heart, especially the young heart. It is a resilient organ, and we should not give up on it. In pediatric cardiology, I see so much potential for recovery and growth.

Over the years, my role has evolved beyond traditional cardiology. With a focus on managing cardiovascular risks related to high blood pressure and high cholesterol, often due to obesity, I’ve found myself acting more as a counselor than solely as a cardiologist. Much of my work now involves guiding patients and their families on nutrition and weight management to support a healthier lifestyle. Building a connection is essential—I encourage my patients to open up and share their challenges so we can work together on personalized, lasting changes.

In addition to patient care, I enjoy teaching and mentoring medical students and new doctors, sharing my expertise and guiding them as they embark on their careers.
