Cleft and Craniofacial Program

Cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies affect both function and appearance. Our craniofacial specialty team understands the impact these conditions can have on a child. We work to correct and repair craniofacial anomalies as soon as possible after birth.

Genetic Testing and Counseling

Using advanced genetic testing, we can diagnose many genetic and chromosomal anomalies during pregnancy. Our genetic specialists provide counseling about your baby’s condition and help you create a care plan for after birth.

General Surgery

If your baby's condition requires surgery after birth, you'll work with our pediatric surgeons during your pregnancy. Together, you'll make a plan for how and when treatment needs to occur.

Neurosurgery

If your baby has a brain or spinal cord condition, our experienced pediatric neurosurgeons and specialists will evaluate and treat them.

Lung Care (Pulmonology)

If your baby is diagnosed with a condition that affects their lungs or respiratory system, you’ll meet with our pediatric pulmonologists. They’ll help to create a plan to care for your baby before and after delivery.

Kidney Care (Nephrology)

Pediatric nephrologists care for children with kidney disease. If your baby is diagnosed with a condition that affects kidney function, they’ll work with you during your pregnancy. Together with our pediatric urologists, they’ll create a plan to treat your baby as soon as possible after delivery.

Orthopedic Surgery

If your baby develops a musculoskeletal condition in utero, you’ll consult with our pediatric orthopedic surgeons. They’ll help you understand the impact of your baby’s diagnosis and make a treatment plan for surgery after birth.

Urology

Several conditions affecting the urinary system and reproductive organs can develop during pregnancy. If your baby is diagnosed with a fetal urological condition, our pediatric urologists will work with you to create a care plan for after delivery.

Nurse Navigators

A dedicated nurse navigator is your primary contact at the Fetal Care Center. From your very first appointment and throughout your pregnancy, they assist in coordinating your care and ensure you see the appropriate specialists at every visit.

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

Our pediatric CICU is lead by a cardiac intensivist (a doctor who specializes in both pediatric intensive care and cardiac intensive care). After delivery, they work with other heart specialists to treat newborns with complex heart conditions who receive heart surgery or interventional procedures.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

NICU nurses and specialists called neonatologists (doctors who work exclusively with newborns) provide care for your baby if they need treatment after birth for complex medical conditions. The Level IV Wasie NICU at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is conveniently located close to the labor and delivery unit at Memorial Regional Hospital, so you can remain near your baby after delivery.
